Hi, 17 The Lanes is owned by myself, Sue and my husband, Richard.   I manage the cottage so it will usually be me that deals with bookings, queries, etc. and I am always happy to help with any queries you may have.  

We purchased the property at the end of 2018 undertook some refurbishment work and opened to our first guests in April 2019.  Since then its been a bit of a whirlwind – which we are thoroughly enjoying!

We thought the cottage was absolutely charming when we first saw it and we hope you do too.  We think it was originally two miners cottages, knocked together long before we purchased it.  It is built of Derbyshire stone with very thick walls which keep it cool in summer and cosy in the winter.  There’s not a straight wall or right angle in the place which just adds to the charm.    

We have aimed to furnish and equip the cottage so it is a home from home with everything you need to enjoy your stay.  We have an extensive collection of DVD’s, Netflix, WiFi, books and games to keep you occupied if the weather is unkind to you.  

Wirksworth is a small market town with independent shops, restaurants and even an independent cinema.  It’s a charming and quirky place to explore and gives you easy access to all that the Peak District and the Derbyshire Dales have to offer.

We are total dog lovers so are pleased to welcome your dogs to the cottage (we have 3 generations of labrador x basset hounds)
