Is there parking at the cottage? Yes, there is dedicated parking for two vehicles

Do you accept dogs? Yes, up to 2 dogs are very welcome at The Lanes, although we ask that they are not allowed on the furniture or left unattended in the cottage.  We charge £25 extra for your pet (total charge).  Our dog policy can be viewed under our t&c’s

Is the garden secure? Yes, the garden is well fenced, private and secure

Are there walks from the door? Yes, you can walk in any direction from the door and walk for as long as you like.  Wirksworth is a short ten minute walk away.  Maps and guide books are provided in the cottage as well to help you plan your routes

What is there to see or do locally? Wirksworth is a great base for exploring either on foot or further afield.  More details can be found on our ‘nearby’ page

What amenities are close by? Wirksworth has a large co-operative supermarket a short drive or ten minute walk from the cottage.  There are lots of independant shops, cafes and restaurants in the town too.  Larger shops can be found in nearby Matlock

Is there WiFi? Yes, we have a very efficient WiFi system which is free to use

Are there DVD’s and/or Netflix? Yes, there is a large collection of DVD’s with something for everyone, we also have netflix.  There are also books and games available

Are linen and towels included? Yes.  We also supply dog towels if you bring your pet with you 

Are energy costs included? Yes, reasonable energy costs are included

Are logs provided? We provide you with 2 bags of logs.  There are more available on site should you need them at a charge of £5 per bag.

Is the cottage accessible for people with limited mobility? No, I am afraid not.  The cottage is built into a hillside so the garden is accessed from upstairs via a small gantry and some stone steps.  There is also a small step to the front door.

Do you have a travel cot and/or cot linen? No, I’m sorry we don’t  

Can we have groceries delivered? Yes, all the major supermarkets – Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Asda and Waitrose – will deliver to The Lanes, alternatively for locally sourced produce have a look at

Do you have charge point for electric cars? No, this is not something we have at the moment and we ask that cars are not charged by trickle feed from the cottage as it could cause issues with our electric supply.  There are nearby charging points at the local garage and in the market square in Wirksworth
